Justice and Accountability

Ending cycles of abuse.

Ending the cycle

Part of ending the cycle of abuse and keeping women and children safe is working directly with the justice system, male perpetrators, and at-risk youth offenders, to seek justice and facilitate intervention.

Justice

We act on behalf of women, children and families experiencing domestic and family violence to seek accountability and justice, and support them to navigate the justice system.

Youth programs

We facilitate early-intervention programs (ReNew and Safer Families) to work with young males exhibiting controlling or aggressive behaviours, and their families. We assist them with therapy, emotional regulation strategies, and adaptive, problem-solving skills that do not incorporate aggression, coercion or control. These programs are strictly referral-based.

Domestic Violence Perpetrator Intervention group programs

We work with men to keep women safe through

  • Early-intervention, voluntary programs
  • Intensive programs mandated by court order.

Our programs challenge men to think critically about the beliefs and patterns driving their harmful behaviours, understand the enduring trauma they have caused to their loved ones, and choose to be non-violent and non-controlling in future. Our evidence-based approach does not absolve guilt, but by transforming violent men into responsible men, we can break cycles of abuse and facilitate lasting outcomes. These programs are strictly referral-based.
