Homelessness nothing to celebrate

There's nothing worth celebrating about the experience of being homeless. This week, however, South Brisbane not-for-profit group Micah Projects joins with Homelessness Australia and other Brisbane-based organisations to take part in National Homeless Persons' Week 2012.

Back from the dead: Homeless find hope

For 18 months, Robert slept among the dead in Dutton Park Cemetery. Each night under the same tree, Bob, as he liked to be called, made himself comfortable with a couple of blankets he collected along the way.

Brisbane's homeless feel the chill

Brisbane's wet cold-snap has caught the city's homeless shelters and charities off-guard, with demand for blankets, sleeping bags, beds and rooms in shelters outstripping supply.
